As part of Metro Regatta we will be supporting a non-profit organization called Sail Able.
To show our support BBYC, as a part of Metro, will be hosting a casino night! The evening will start at 6:00PM and conclude with with a prize auction and 50/50 draw (tickets will be sold all weekend).
This event is not limited to sailors and racers. We would like to see as many members as possible at the club on Sunday night in support of a great cause.
Sail Able is a registered non-profit organization that aims to promote the integration of persons with disabilities into the recreation of sailing for pleasure and/or competitive sailing. Sail Able uses sip and puff technology, to operate a sail boat, for those how have difficultly grasping objects.
It is this technology and Sail Able's passion for sailing that we hope to show case during the Metro Regatta in hopes that sailing will be more accessible to a larger range of people who other wise my not have had the opportunity.
